Very cautious on market; not getting carried away by short erratic rallies, says Enam Holdings
May 5, 2020 4:36 AM

Sridhar Sivaram, investment director of Enam Holdings, shared his views and outlook on markets. He also shared his thoughts on the current state of the market and the recovery of April.

“Most of us who are in the markets were very intrigued listening to Warren Buffett a few days back and it's veteran investors who have seen many more cycles than what I would have or many of us would have – if he is saying that he is not investing and if you are investing anything today, you be prepared to lose 50 percent, don’t expect any returns for the next two years, I think the broad framework is set and that has been broadly argued, not that we have as much wisdom as he has but this is a bear market and we will see vicious rallies. We have seen this in the past and we will see more of it even as we go forward,” he said.

“Some of the youngsters use the term called FOMO (the fear of missing out) syndrome – as long as you don’t have that and you are able to see through this noise, we will come out with a much better portfolio. I still want to be very cautious in the market and not get carried away with rallies that we are seeing over the last one month,” he added.
