Dec 23, 2024 3:17 AM

06:12 AM EST, 12/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Wall Street futures edged up pre-bell Monday, gearing for a higher open after the release of positive inflation data late last week.

In the futures, the S&P 500 was up 0.1% and the Nasdaq was 0.2% higher, while the Dow Jones fell by 0.1%.

Most Asian bourses closed in the green, while European stock exchanges were mostly advancing midday.

Early movers include Novo Nordisk (NVO), which was up more than 5% premarket, recovering from an almost-18% decline in the previous session following the results of a phase 3 trial on its experimental obesity therapy CagriSema.

BHP Group (BHP) and Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores (AVAL) are set to report their quarterly results within the day.

On the economic calendar is the Conference Board's confidence report for December, posting at 10 am ET.

In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $96,159.60, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded 0.2% lower at $69.33, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.54%. Spot gold traded for $2,620.56 an ounce.
