Wall Street Futures Inch Higher Ahead of Tuesday's Shortened Trading Hours

06:29 AM EST, 12/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Wall Street futures edged higher premarket, ahead of expected muted trading during Tuesday's shortened session.

The S&P 500 rose 0.1%, the Nasdaq advanced by 0.2% and the Dow Jones was up 0.2%.

In other sector news, the Conference Board reported that consumer confidence index dropped 8.1 points to 104.7 in December.

Asian exchanges were mixed at closing, while European bourses were mostly higher midday.

Early movers include NeueHealth (NEUE), which rallied past 59% in premarket hours amid a deal to be acquired and taken private by an affiliate of New Enterprise Associates for an enterprise value of about $1.3 billion.

Procaps Group (PROC), iLearningEngines (AILE), and Scilex Holding (SCLX) are among the companies reporting quarterly results within the day.

On the economic calendar, the Richmond Fed Manufacturing Index for December posts at 10 am ET and the November Money Supply report at 1pm.

In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $94,371.0, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 1% at $69.90, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.6%. Spot gold traded for $2,616.94 an ounce.
