Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): It was very important to get a win. I have played all the editions of (T20 World Cup) but we haven't won and that was on the back of my mind. We kept losing wickets at regular intervals and that wasn't helping us. We knew that 155 would have been a great total, we were 10 runs short. The fast bowlers bowled well. We understand the importance of fast bowling, we have found some very good bowlers. Taskin has been a good bowler for us, he has the experience and pace. Most of the fielders in our team are agile and quick, in the field we can save 5-10 runs, and that could be the big difference.

Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): Our bowlers were quite amazing, and they (Bangladesh) were around 10-15 runs short. But our run-outs (Max O'Dowd and Tom Cooper) were poor. Colin and Edwards helped us to get closer to the total. Hopefully we can bring in a better performance with the bat, looking forward to the next challenge (against India).

Taskin Ahmed (4/25) - Player of the Match: It's a good win for us, we needed it. As a team we played really well and I am happy to contribute in today's win. I tried to stick to the basics. I tried to bowl the Test match lengths and the ball shaped away too. I just tried to give my best. I can move the ball both ways, that's the main focus and something I have worked on for the World Cup.

A good display from Bangladesh who weren't at their best but still managed to work as a unit to get the victory. Taskin Ahmed was brilliant with the ball and he was well-supported with some strong displays from the other bowlers. Bangladesh certainly look like a much better side and will be sure to cause a few upsets in this group.

Klaasen slogs at the 1st delivery but doesn’t time it well as they get 2 runs. He then drills the 2nd ball through the gap at cover for 2 more. Soumya slips in a low full toss on the 3rd delivery and Klaasen can only thump it towards midwicket for a single. He then sends the next ball WIDE outside off. van Meekeren raises the pressure on Soumya with a SIX on the 4th delivery. However, Soumya keeps his cool with a slower delivery which van Meekeren launches high but it lands safely inside the ropes for 2 runs. CAUGHT! van Meekeren slogs at the final delivery but this time picks out the man at deep midwicket as Bangladesh seal the victory!

van Meekeren looks to finish with a maximum but doesn't get enough distance on it as Litton takes a good catch right at the edge of the boundary. That seals the victory for Bangladesh who win by 9 runs.

van Meekeren shows great timing as he slaps the 1st delivery for FOUR. He then fails to get any bat onto the next two deliveries as The Fizz slips in the slower balls. van Meekeren slices the 4th ball for a quick single. Klaasen heaves at the 5th delivery but fails to connect. The next ball is WIDE down leg and they manage to also steal an extra as the keeper fumbles. Mustafizur sends another WIDE this time outside off. He finally ends with another slower delivery and van Meekeren slogs hard but doesn’t connect. 8 runs come off the over.

He isn’t done yet as he slices the 3rd ball over point for FOUR. van Meekeren can’t make any contact with the next two balls but hammers the last delivery towards long-on for a single. 8 runs come off the over.

Shariz takes on the short delivery on the 1st ball and manages to slice it over point for FOUR. CAUGHT! This time Shariz doesn’t connect cleanly as a thick edge finds the man at third man. Klaasen walks out and gets off the mark with a single. Ackermann meanwhile plays a superb pull to clear the man at mid-on for FOUR. CAUGHT! Taskin has the last laugh as Ackermann connects with the pull but doesn’t get enough distance with the fielder taking a good catch at the edge of the ropes. van Meekeren then gets lucky as a thick edge escapes to fine leg for FOUR. 13 runs and 2 wickets come off the over. Taskin finishes with superb figures of 4-0-25-4.
