Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Mumbai on Saturday, September 23, to join the ongoing Ganesh Utsav celebrations. This is going to be Shah’s second visit to the city to attend the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations as he had visited the Lalbaughcha Raja last year.
The Union Home Minister will attend multiple events during his day-long visit to Mumbai, reported ANI.
According to reports, Shah will reach Mumbai at around 2 pm and then he will visit Ganesh pandals in Lalbaug and Bandra West. He will then attend an event at Mumbai University.
The Home Minister will be offering prayers to Lalbaugcha Raja at around 3 pm. Lalbaughcha Raja, located in the Lalbaug area of Putalabai Chawl, is known for being one of the most visited Ganesh idols in Mumbai. It attracts lakhs of devotees every year, including celebrities and politicians.
After the visit to Lalbaughcha Raja, Amit Shah will be visiting another pandal established by the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal in Bandra West.
Following this, he will attend the Laxmanrao Inamdar Memorial Lecture, which is organised jointly by Mumbai University and Sahakar Bharati.
The Laxmanrao Inamdar Memorial Lecture will be conducted at the Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Convocation Hall in the Mumbai University’s Fort Campus. Laxmanrao Inamdar was the founder of Sahakar Bharati and he was instrumental in establishing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Gujarat. He is also known as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mentor.
After attending the memorial lecture at Mumbai University, the Home Minister Amit Shah will be leaving for Delhi by 7 pm.
Meanwhile, due to the ongoing festivities, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued advisory on road restrictions, which will remain in effect from September 19 to 29. The advisory was issued to ensure smooth traffic movement and to maintain the law and order during the festivities in the city.
