IIFL positive on M&M Finance, Ujjivan Financial Services
Dec 12, 2018 8:02 AM

The latest analysis and commentary by stock market guru Abhimanyu Sofat, VP-Research, IIFL, on what is moving the markets today.

On midcap stocks, Sofat said the midcaps stocks have been beaten down a lot despite the crude price fall and a lot of stocks from the sector which were impacted by the crude price they still are at lower levels.

"We have been recommending our clients to look at those particular sectors so whether it is something from the tyre space, or the lubricant space or the paint side," Sofat said.

At this particular price point, midcap is where most of the juice is, therefore investors have to make at least 35-40 percent kind of a return over the next 2-2.5 year period, he said.

On nonbanking finance companies (NBFC), Sofat said they are not completely out of the wood. "The smaller ones will probably continue to struggle and for the larger ones the cost of funds are gone up," he said.

"Sector wise, M&M Finance looks good. Even Ujjivan Financial Services, despite their issues with the regulator, is still looks quite good to us,” Sofat added.
