Pakistan skipper Babar Azam expressed that the momentum of his team is on a high after the team recorded consecutive victories to start their ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. Speaking at the toss of the match against India, Azam revealed that they will go in with an unchanged XI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
"We also wanted to bowl first," the star batter said, after Indian captain Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first in this encounter. Azam added, "We have had good two wins, momentum and confidence is high. Jam-packed stadium, we will enjoy it. We want to be good in the field, we had a couple of good practice sessions. Same team for us."

Pakistan will draw a lot of confidence from their incredible victory against Sri Lanka, where they chased down 345, thanks to centuries by Muhammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique. The latter came in as a replacement for the under fire Fakhar Zaman and starred with a ton in his first game to cement his spot in the playing XI.
Pakistan is certainly hurt by the absence of Naseem Shah in their pace unit but Hasan Ali has delivered decent returns so far. Shaheen Shah Afridi's form is a cause of concern but the left-arm pacer will be expected to be at the top of his game to take care of the Indian openers. Haris Rauf will be a geniune wicket-taking option in the middle-overs, whereas the likes of Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz give a well-rounded look to the Pakistani bowling attack.
