Strong growth in a M&A deal activity in July, says Grant Thornton India
Aug 8, 2018 9:01 AM

Grant Thornton's report for July M&A is out and the numbers make it a blockbuster year for deals when calculated year-to-date (YTD).

Pankaj Chopda, Director, Grant Thornton India said, “It is the outbound deals which have taken the deal street up this time. Primarily, out of the $8.7 billion which is clocked in the M&A transactions, about $7 billion is what is the clocking from the outbound deals. So $7 billion out of $8.7 billion, which is about 84 percent of the total deals has come from outbound deals. This is again primarily contributed by two main deals which is UPL Corporation’s acquisition of Arysta and also the deal of Hindalco with Aleris. So both these cross border transactions have kind of created month to be a more interesting month. Even if we exclude these two deals, it would still be a 4x growth compared to July of the previous year.”
