The Supreme Court (SC) has ruled in a unanimous verdict on the decades-old Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid title dispute. The apex court directs for a trust to be formed by the central government. Management of construction of the temple to be monitored by this trust which will be formed within 3 months. In an important statement, the SC also says Muslims have been deprived and an alternate land must be provided for them. The 5-judge bench ruled that the Sunni Waqf Board will be given 5 acres of alternate land.

“We are not satisfied with the judgement. There are several contradictions in the judgement and there are some incorrect findings also. We appeal to observe restrain and peace – the entire country should remain peaceful,” Zafaryab Jilani, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member said.

Former bureaucrat Vijay S Pandey added, “We live in a democracy, we have to accept the judgement of the Supreme Court. Supreme Court has gone into all the issues that we have been discussing for some many years. The right of the deity and rights of the various parties, it came out very clearly that none of the parties could prove their ownership over the land, but they have looked at all the issues involved in the case and declared that Hindus have the primary rights over the piece of the disputed land."

Lawyer Desh Ratan Nigam said, “Ram Lalla has won – not a Hindu community not a Muslim community. The title has been exclusively given to Ram Lalla and the temple has to be constructed. He is the common ancestor of all the Indians. That is the moot point.”

KN Bhatt, ex-counsel, Ram Lalla further mentioned, “It is not one individual case, it is of whole society. This is exactly the judgement which I expected.”
