Chanchal is an Assembly constituency in the Malda district, in the North Bengal region of West Bengal.

The Chanchal constituency went to polls on April 26, 2021. The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Chanchal was won by Asif Mehbub of CPIM. Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Asif Mehbub of INC.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Asif Mehbub garnered 92590 votes, securing over 53.78 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 52368 votes. In percentage terms, the victory margin was 30.42 percent.

The constituency polled 172156 votes in the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls with a voter turnout of 79.12 percent.

The Chanchal constituency has a literacy level of 62.71 percent. A total of 6 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
