Chavara is an Assembly constituency in the Kollam district, in the Travancore region of Kerala.

The Chavara constituency went to polls on April 6, 2021.

The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Chavara was won by N.Vijayan Pillai of RSP.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Shibu Baby John of KRSP.In the 2016 assembly polls, N.Vijayan Pillai garnered 64666 votes, securing over 46.8 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 6189 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 4.48 percent.

The constituency polled 138197 votes in the 2016 Kerala assembly polls with a voter turnout of 78.56 percent.

The Chavara constituency has a literacy level of 93.77 percent.

A total of 13 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
