Duliajan Election Result 2021 LIVE: BJP’s Terash Gowalla defeats INC’s Dhrubajyoti Gogoi

Terash Gowalla of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won in the Duliajan assembly constituency, defeating Dhrubajyoti Gogoi of Indian National Congress (INC) and Lurinjyoti Gogoi of Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP).

Current leads:

Terash Gowalla (BJP): 54,376 votes

Dhrubajyoti Gogoi (INC): 46,392votes

Lurinjyoti Gogoi (AJP): 24,027 votes

Duliajan is an Assembly constituency in the Dibrugarh district, in the Upper Assam region of Assam.

The Duliajan constituency went to polls on March 27, 2021.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Duliajan was won by Terash Gowalla of BJP.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Amiya Gogoi of INC.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Terash Gowalla garnered 58450 votes, securing over 51.13 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 17086 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 14.95 percent.

The constituency polled 114348 votes in the 2016 Assam assembly polls with a voter turnout of 82.51 percent.

The Duliajan constituency has a literacy level of 76.22 percent.

A total of 12 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
