The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has been on an overdrive to protect and nurture cows since it came to power.
In the last state budget, nearly Rs 650 crore was allocated for a cow protection scheme. However, farmers across the state's sugar belt are scratching their heads to protect their fields against stray cattle menace.
CNBC-TV18's Parikshit Luthra reports that sugarcane farmers of Uttar Pradesh, who already are seeking outstanding dues of over Rs 10,000 crore from sugar mills, are also chasing stray cattle away from their fields.
