Over 35,000 farmers from Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Sunday reached Mumbai, protesting for complete loan waiver and fair pay.

The farmers will protest outside Mantralaya or the Mahrashtra state assembly on March 12, 2018 for their demands.

The farmers, after reaching Mumbai camped at KJ Somaiya ground.

Opposition parties including Shiv Sena Shiv Sena have extended their support to the peacefully protesting farmers.

The farmers who launched the long march six days ago were led by All India Kisan Sabha.

Protesters, including women covered 180 kms in six days to reach Mumbai.

They are also demanding compensation of Rs 40,000 per acre for destruction of crops due to hailstorm.

Thousands of more farmers from Mumbai are also expected to join the protest.
