Tensions between New Delhi and Beijing seem to have taken a different turn with Indian authorities banning 59 Chinese apps and holding up consignments from the neighbouring country at various ports. Over the past two weeks, Customs officials have stopped shipments from China for a thorough inspection. Check out these exclusive photos from ports across India to find out how Indian authorities are clamping down on Chinese consignments.

Inland Container Depot Tughlaqabad, Delhi | Containers that arrived from JNPT port to Tughlaqabad are being opened up for a 100 percent physical inspection.

Delhi Airport | Once the containers are opened up, the boxes containing made in China equipment and other components are taken out.

The inspection at Delhi Airport is done indoors. Each box is opened and contents are being checked, which is causing delays in clearance of imported cargo.

Chennai | Customs officials claim that they have a tip off regarding banned substances narcotics entering India via Chinese consignments.

At the sea port and airport, cargo from China is being thoroughly checked and is being allowed to be dispatched to their final destination only after 100 percent physical examination.

Customs officials at Chennai have maintain that after 100 percent inspection, consignments are being released and the backlog has reduced at the ports.
