Jangipur is an Assembly constituency in the Murshidabad district, in the South East Bengal region of West Bengal.

The Jangipur constituency went to polls on April 26, 2021. The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Jangipur was won by Jakir Hossain of CPIM. Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Md. Sohrab of INC.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Jakir Hossain garnered 66869 votes, securing over 37.23 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 20633 votes. In percentage terms, the victory margin was 11.49 percent.

The constituency polled 179758 votes in the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls with a voter turnout of 83.82 percent.

The Jangipur constituency has a literacy level of 67.53 percent. A total of 12 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
