Karunagappally is an Assembly constituency in the Kollam district, in the Travancore region of Kerala.

The Karunagappally constituency went to polls on April 6, 2021.

The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Karunagappally was won by R.Ramachandran of JPSS.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by C. Divakaran of CPI.

In the 2016 assembly polls, R.Ramachandran garnered 69902 votes, securing over 43.06 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 1759 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 1.08 percent.

The constituency polled 162351 votes in the 2016 Kerala assembly polls with a voter turnout of 79.37 percent.

The Karunagappally constituency has a literacy level of 93.77 percent.

A total of 8 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
