Rabindranath Chatterjee of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has retained Katwa Assembly constituency seat, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Shyama Majumdar in a tough contest.
Katwa is an Assembly constituency in the Purba Bardhaman district, in the South West Bengal region of West Bengal.
The Katwa constituency went to polls on April 22, 2021.
The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Rabindranath Chatterjee garnered 91489 votes, securing over 44.81 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 911 votes.
In percentage terms, the victory margin was 0.45 percent.
The constituency polled 204305 votes in the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls with a voter turnout of 84 percent.
The Katwa constituency has a literacy level of 77.15 percent.
