Ramesh Chennithala of Indian National Congress won Haripad constituency.

Haripad is an Assembly constituency in the Alappuzha district, in the Travancore region of Kerala.

The Haripad constituency went to polls on April 6, 2021.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Haripad was won by Ramesh Chennithala of CPI.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Ramesh Chennithala of INC.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Ramesh Chennithala garnered 75980 votes, securing over 51.05 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 18621 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 12.51 percent.

The constituency polled 148849 votes in the 2016 Kerala assembly polls with a voter turnout of 78.9 percent.

The Haripad constituency has a literacy level of 96.26 percent.

A total of 14 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
