In the 2016 Assembly elections, Killiyoor was won by Rajesh Kumar S of INC.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by John Jacob.S of INC.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Rajesh Kumar S garnered 77356 votes, securing over 50.47 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 46295 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 30.2 percent.

The constituency polled 153507 votes in the 2016 Tamil Nadu assembly polls with a voter turnout of 60.75 percent.

The Killiyoor constituency has a literacy level of 92.14 percent.
