The BJP-led NDA won 23 of total 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan and was leading on two, giving a major jolt to the Congress which came to power in 2018.

The ruling Congress was hoping for a better performance in the state but could not win even a single seat in the Modi wave despite getting a vote share of 34.2 percent.

The BJP had contested on 24 seats and its ally Rastriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) head by Hanuman Beniwal on one seat.

Twenty-one of the BJP candidates and one RLP candidate have won and the BJP is leading on Jaipur and Jaipur rural constituencies.

BJP's vote share is 58.5 percent, according to the Election Commission of India.

The highest winning margin was registered by BJP candidate Subhash Chandra Baheria who won Bhilwara seat with a margin of 6,12,000 votes.

In 2014, the BJP had witnessed a clean sweep by winning all the 25 seats. The Congress had managed to win two Lok Sabha seats of Ajmer and Alwar in bypolls held last year, but it failed to hold them this general election.

Of all elected MPs, one is woman-Jaskaur Meena.

BJP candidate Jaskaur Meena won Dausa seat by defeating Congress's Savita Meena with a margin of 78,444 votes.

Four Union ministers of state Rajyavardhan Rathore (Jaipur rural), Arjun Ram Meghwal (Bikaner), Gajendra Singh Shekhawat (Jodhpur) and P P Chaudhary (Pali) were in the fray and three of them have won, while Rajyavardhan Rathore is leading with a margin of 3,89,403 votes.

The Jaipur rural seat saw a contest between two Olympians-Rathore and Congress's Krishna Poonia.

In 2014, Rathore had won the seat with a margin of 3,32,896 votes.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav Gehlot lost Jodhpur seat to BJP's Gajendra Singh Shekhawat with a margin of 2,74,440 while Rajput leader Manvendra Singh, who quit the BJP and joined the Congress ahead of assembly elections last year, also faced defeat on Barmer seat.

Losing Jodhpur seat is a setback for chief minister Gehlot for whom election on this seat had become an issue of prestige. It was seen as a contest between him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP candidate Kailash Chaudhary, who has a criminal background and a history-sheeter of Balotara police station of Barmer, won the Barmer seat with a margin of 3,23,808 votes.

Former BJP MLA Manvendra Singh, the son of erstwhile BJP leader and former Union minister Jaswant Singh, had quit the BJP after his father was denied a ticket in the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

The members of erstwhile royal families, Diya Kumari and Dushyant Singh, won Rajsamand and Jhalwar-Baran seats, respectively.

Diya Kumari, a former BJP MLA, is the member of former royal family of Jaipur while Dushyant Singh is the son of former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and was elected to Lok Sabha for fourth consecutive time.

RLP candidate Hanuman Beniwal, who is also an RLP MLA, won Nagaur seat with a margin of 1,81,260 He defeated Congress candidate and former MP Jyoti Mirdha.

Nagaur has been a Congress bastion which was represented by Mirdha's grandfather and prominent Jat leader Nathuram Mirdha for six times since 1971.

Two sants, Sumedhanand Saraswati (Sikar) and Baba Balaknath (Alwar), both from the BJP, won elections.

Balaknath defeated Congress candidate and former MP Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, a member of erstwhile royal family, with a margin of 3,29,971 votes on Alwar seat.

BJP's Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union minister of state and a former IAS officer, defeated his cousin brother and Congress candidate Madangopal Meghwal, a former IPS officer, in Bikaner.

Arjun Ram got elected for third consecutive time. In 2014, his winning margin was 3,08,079 which reduced to 2,64,081 this time.

Other BJP candidates who won elections are Bhagirath Chaudhary (Ajmer), Kanakmal Katara (Banswara), Subhash Chand Baheria (Bhilwara), Chandra Prakash Joshi (Chittorgarh), Rahul Kaswan (Churu), Sukhbir Singh (Tonk Sawaimadhopur), Arjun Lal Meena (Udaipur), Nihal Chand (Ganganagar), Ramcharan Bohra (Jaipur), Devji Patel (Jalore), Narendra Kumar (Jhunjhunu), Manoj Rajoria (Karauli-Dholpur) and Om Birla (Kota).
