Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently addressing a rally in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu where Chief Minister and AIADMK leader E Palanisamy is also present. Here is what the PM has said in his Coimbatore address so far:

- Your own city saw a deadly terror attack in Feb 1998. The weak manner in which Congress in Centre and DMK in TN acted is known to you. Today's India is different. Anyone who dares to attack India will get a strong response. We'll pay back in the same coin and with compound interest.

- I just don't understand our friends in Opposition, they're always suspecting our Army and Air Force... an alliance with such thinking can never protect India... Opposition has started asking why is Modi talking about nationalism. Is it a crime to be a nationalist?

- Kerala isn't far from here. Congress and Communist are together in destroying the culture of Kerala. Their stand on Sabarimala has vote bank politics written all over it. I want to tell them, the force of the communist will not be enough to destroy our faith.

- Just like people devote their first salary for something pure and memorable, I urge you all (first-time voters) to devote your first vote for a higher cause, for a better future of the nation, to strengthen the hands of all nationalists..... (inputs from ANI)

No talks for alliance with BJP: INLD Haryana chief##No talks for alliance with BJP: INLD Haryana chief

The Indian National Lok Dal Tuesday said the party was not in talks with the ruling BJP for an alliance for Lok Sabha polls, seeking to put at rest speculation that arose after party leader Abhay Singh Chautala met Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. INLD Haryana chief Ashok Arora insisted no talks on stitching an alliance were going on between the two parties.

"The BJP has already declared its eight candidates and we will announce our candidates soon," Arora told PTI.

Barring Hisar and Rohtak seats, the BJP last week announced its candidates for the remaining eight seats from Haryana, where polling will be held on May 12.

The INLD had earlier said it will announce its candidates by April 16. (PTI)

PM Modi addressing a public meeting in Chitradurga, Karnataka##PM Modi addressing a public meeting in Chitradurga, Karnataka

PM Modi addressing a public meeting in Chitradurga, Karnataka. Here are the main highlights from his speech today:

-Karnataka is one of those states that has always been with BJP. Thanks to your support, this chowkidar could fight any problem.

-When we attacked terrorists it hurt Pakistan, and Congress and its allies wept over the action, says PM Modi.

-The CM here went a step further, he said talk of the valour of our forces should not be done, it damages his vote bank. I want to ask him, is your vote bank in India or Pakistan?

-Just like air strike, they also raised questions on strike in the space. They didn't have the courage to sanction missile tests.

-They neither respect soldiers and nor science. It's about time to teach a lesson to such parties and people.

-No one knows who's running Karnataka's govt because both of the defeated parties have come together for the power in the state.

-Congress did injustice with capability, resources and dreams of the country. We didn't deserve such govt. They have done injustice with four generations of this country.

Kamal Nath, son file poll nominations##Kamal Nath, son file poll nominations

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath Tuesday filed their nominations for the state Assembly bypoll and Lok Sabha election, respectively, from Chhindwara.

The chief minister, who is also the MP Congress president, has represented the Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat nine times. He is contesting the bypoll because, as per rules, he needs to get elected to the state Assembly within six months of being sworn in as the chief minister.

He is fighting the Assembly election for the first time while his 44-year-old son, a Boston University graduate, is making his political debut.

The BJP has fielded Vivek Sahu (Bunty), a fresh face, against Kamal Nath, and tribal leader and former MLA Natthan Shah against Nakul Nath.

Narendra Modi baptized in politics through riots, killings: Mamata##Narendra Modi baptized in politics through riots, killings: Mamata

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was "baptized in politics through violence and riots", West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, claiming that Adolf Hitler would have committed suicide if he witnessed Modi's activities.

"Modi has been baptized in politics through riots and mass killings. He is the king of fascists. Had Adolf Hitler been alive, he would have committed suicide seeing Modi's activities," she said.

"The Congress failed to put up a credible fight against the BJP, the saffron party grew from strength to strength. The Rahul Gandhi-led party will have to seek help from others if it wants to form government at the Centre," Banerjee stated.

"Once Modi is voted out of power, all of us will work towards building a new India," the CM said, adding that TMC has "never compromised in its fight against communalism".

Deal Pak such a blow that nothing of it remains: Uddhav Thackeray##Deal Pak such a blow that nothing of it remains: Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray Tuesday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deal Pakistan such a blow that nothing remains of it to mess with India. Addressing a poll rally at Ausa in Maharashtra with Modi, their first since the Shiv Sena and BJP announced their tie-up for the Lok Sabha polls, Thackeray also welcomed the BJP's manifesto. He said the promises made in the BJP manifesto was the reason the two ruling parties joined forces ahead of the polls. In the manifesto released Monday, the BJP has reiterated its commitment towards construction of Ram temple and abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution. It also announced a welfare scheme for farmers if voted to power.

"Our government today doesn't just talk about teaching Pakistan a lesson," Thackeray said.

"Pradhan Mantri ji, our only expectation from you now is that deal Pakistan such a blow that nothing of it remains to mess (with India) again," he said. (PTI)
