May 9, 2019 10:16 AM

Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who is contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Patna Sahib, said that his maiden election campaign "is based on ecosystem of hope versus opportunism".

"Patna Sahib is a pro-BJP seat, we have five of six MLAs who are of BJP," he said, in an interview with CNBC-TV18.

When asked if he saw vote division happening in the region, he said, “I never do caste politics... I try to draw a bigger line but being an enlightened intelligent community, even my community has been a BJP supporter for a long time... I believe in all communities and the response I am getting across the board of communities, younger people, others have a powering desire to make Modiji as the Prime Minister.”

He said there is a demand for special category status for Bihar. "So far projects worth over Rs 1 crore for roads and rails have been sanctioned, thousands of crore have been spent on Ganga project," he said.
