Madhya Pradesh Elections 2018: BJP releases third list of 32 candidates, denies ticket to Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan's son
Nov 8, 2018 6:32 AM

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released the third list of 32 candidates for Madhya Pradesh assembly elections 2018. While the list breaks suspense for the six legislative assembly seats in Indore, the party has surprised watchers with its selection of candidates in several seats.

BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya's son Akash Kailash Vijayvargiya has been named the party's candidate in Indore-3.

But, the party has denied the ticket to Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan's son Mandar Mahajan.

What's more surprising, BJP has named Krishna Gour as its candidate from Bhopal's Govindpura. Krishna Gour is the daughter-in-law of former chief minister Babulal Gour who has represented the Govindpura seat 10 times.

Rakesh Choudhary will be contesting from Bhind, Arvind Pateriya from Rajnagar, G S Damor from the ST reserved seat of Jhabua.

Sudrashan Gupta will contest from Indore-1, Ramesh Mendola from Indore-2, Malini Gour from Indore-4 and Mahendra Hardiya from Indore-5.

BJP had released its second list of 17 candidates on Monday. The party released its first list of 177 candidates on Friday.

The party has not given tickets to three of its ministers in the Shivraj Singh government along with 30 other incumbent MLAs.

On Wednesday, the Congress has released its fourth list of 29 candidates for the assembly polls, taking the total number of declared candidates to 213.

The party has fielded Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s brother-in-law Sanjay Singh Masani from Waraseoni, who joined the Congress on November 3.
