Murshidabad is an Assembly constituency in the Murshidabad district, in the South East Bengal region of West Bengal.The Murshidabad constituency went to polls on April 26, 2021.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Murshidabad was won by Shaoni Singha Roy of AIFB.Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Shaoni Singha Roy of INC.In the 2016 assembly polls, Shaoni Singha Roy garnered 94579 votes, securing over 47.02 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 25139 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 12.5 percent.The constituency polled 201155 votes in the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls with a voter turnout of 85.58 percent.The Murshidabad constituency has a literacy level of 67.53 percent.A total of 10 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
