Chandira Priyanga of All India N.R. Congress (AINRC) won in the Nedungadu assembly constituency, defeating Indian National Congress’ (INC) A Marimuthu. She won with a margin of 2,214 votes.
While Chandira Priyanga (winner) had 10,410 votes, A Marimuthu (who came second) had 8,376 votes, the data available on the ECI website showed.
Nedungadu is an Assembly constituency in the Karaikal district, in the Karaikal region of Puducherry.
The Nedungadu constituency went to polls on April 6, 2021.
The assembly seat is reserved for the Scheduled Caste category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Nedungadu was won by Chandirapriyanga of IND.
Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by M.Chandhrakasu of AINRC.
In the 2016 assembly polls, Chandirapriyanga garnered 8789 votes, securing over 34.48 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 1094 votes.
In percentage terms, the victory margin was 4.29 percent.
The constituency polled 25496 votes in the 2016 Puducherry assembly polls with a voter turnout of 83.18 percent.
The Nedungadu constituency has a literacy level of 87.05 percent.
A total of 11 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
