Ahead of the upcoming board and entrance examinations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with students and teachers at the third edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha at Delhi's Talkatora Indoor Stadium. The PM said India's future depends on the youth as he interacted with students, teachers and parents to share "valuable tips" with them to ensure they take the upcoming exams in a relaxed manner.
Here are the main highlights from the PM's interactions with students and teachers:
As PM, I get to attend many types of programmes. Each of the programmes provides a new experience. But, if someone asks me what is that one programme that touches your heart the most, I will say it is this one.
Pariksha Pe Charcha is the event closest to my heart. Thousands of schools from the entire country participate in this and I feel how the youth of the country think and what they want to do.
This New Year and decade are equally important for you and the entire country. Whatever happens in this new decade will be directly related to the students that are currently studying in Class X and XII.
I love attending Hackathons also. They showcase the power and talent of the youth of India.
Aaj kal ka fashion hai "#withoutfilter", toh humare beech bhi jaise aap apne doston se baat karte hain waise hi halki-phulki baat karenge.
Remember India-Australia Test series in 2001? Our team was facing setbacks and the mood wasn't great. But, we can never forget how Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman turned the match around. This is the power of positive thinking and motivation.
For example, Chandrayaan II. The entire country felt demotivated at its failure. At times, failure weakens us. I was present there as well. Some people had asked me not to go there because there was no surety.
I said I should go even more due to that. I could see a change on the faces of the scientists in the dying seconds. They came and informed me later. After about 10 mins, they told me it was not happening. I told them not to worry and then left.
I could not sit in peace. I summoned the PMO team and changed the schedule. I met the scientists early morning the next day. I shared my emotions with them and lauded their efforts. Basically, we can find an education about success in failures.
A farmer may not be educated well, but he gets informed. He learns, he understands technology and makes his life better. We must rise above exams and we can move ahead in life with more options.
The education that we receive from the system is the door to the world. While learning the alphabet, children enter a new world. Our education is just a way for us to learn new things. We need to keep it at the core of the routine and learn more.
If you're not doing any extra activity, you'll turn into a robot. Do we want our youth to turn into robots? No! They are full of energy and dreams!
These extra-activities have become a fashion statement these days for parents. Parents think that glamour-driven extra-activity will help their child. It is the parents' responsibility to pick the child's interests and take him/her to that activity.
Social networking has gone down due to technology. Earlier, we used to celebrate and surprise our friends by seeing them physically. These days, we're wishing them virtually.
Every day, there must be some time that you keep yourself away from technology. There must be a technology-free hour every day. Spend that time with friends, family, books, garden or pets.
There should be one room in the entire house that there shouldn't be any technology inside it. Life would be a new experience if you do this. Every member should sit without a gadget in that room.
Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in India in which people greet each other with 'Jai Hind' whenever they meet each other. This is rare. I want all of you to go to the North East on vacation if you can. Our country is amazing. It must be experienced.
