Pathanapuram is an Assembly constituency in the Kollam district, in the Travancore region of Kerala.

The Pathanapuram constituency went to polls on April 6, 2021.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Pathanapuram was won by K.B. Ganesh Kumar of CPIM.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by K.B Ganesh Kumar of KECB.

In the 2016 assembly polls, K.B. Ganesh Kumar garnered 74429 votes, securing over 52.39 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 24562 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 17.29 percent.

The constituency polled 142058 votes in the 2016 Kerala assembly polls with a voter turnout of 74.83 percent.

The Pathanapuram constituency has a literacy level of 93.77 percent.

A total of 10 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
