PM Modi likely to visit poll-bound Telangana and Madhya Pradesh next week

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Telangana on October 1 and 3 to take part in government events. He is also likely to address a public rally in the state, sources told news agency ANI on Wednesday. According to the report, PM Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on October 2 and 5 to hold public meetings.

PM Modi had visited Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh earlier in September to lay the foundation stone of several projects. In Chhattisgarh, PM dedicated several important rail sector projects worth around Rs 6,350 crore to the nation. "He also laid the foundation stone of 50 bedded ‘critical care blocks’ in 9 districts of Chattisgarh and distributed 1 lakh sickle cell counseling cards to the screened population," a press release said.

In Madhya Pradesh, the PM laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 50,700 crore. He also laid the foundation stone of two IT Park in Indore, six new industrial Parks across the state, Petrochemical Complex at Bina Refinery and ‘Power and Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone’ in Narmadapuram and Mega Industrial Park in Ratlam.

Elections are due in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana this year. The Election Commission of India is yet to announce the poll schedule in both the states. Apart from Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, elections will also take place in Rajasthan, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh.
