PM Modi's rallies unlikely to make a dent in Karnataka, says Congress
May 2, 2018 9:12 AM

Even as Narendra Modi kicked off his Karnataka campaign in Chamarajanagar, the Congress firmly believes that Prime Minister's rallies will not make a dent.

To find out of Modi’s rallies are of any consequence in the upcoming elections, CNBC-TV18 spoke to G Parmeshwar, President, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

He said Modi has not made any significant contribution to Karnataka in the last 3-4 years other than a plan outlay, while he gave special package to Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Congress is comfortable throughout northern Karnataka, said Parmeshwar, adding that they are confident of coming back to power on their own.

We strongly condemn the killings which have taken place there. It's an extremely serious matter and we support the call for an independent investigation.” Reports have said that more than 300 people have been killed and the total number of casualties was likely to increase as the whole city is being checked. Hundreds of civilian residents were found dead on the streets, beside their homes and in mass graves. Ukraine accused Russia of the Bucha massacre.
