Rajasthan Election Exit Polls 2023: When & where can you catch the action live?
Nov 29, 2023 8:59 AM

The voting for the Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023 was held on November 25 in a single phase. The much-awaited exit poll results for the state will be announced on Thursday (November 30) evening after voting ends in Telangana.

In the Rajasthan Assembly polls held on Saturday (November 25), the state recorded a voter turnout of 75.45%. This was slightly higher than the last polls held in 2018, when the state registered a turnout of 74.71%.

The counting of votes for all five states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana will take place on December 3.

Voting for 199 Assembly constituencies in Rajasthan was held in a single phase on November 25, and barring a few incidents, it was peaceful. Polling for the Karanpur Assembly seat was adjourned due to the death of a candidate.

Voting took place at 51,890 polling stations, with 1,862 candidates in the fray.

Rajasthan is known for its anti-incumbency, with the state oscillating between the BJP and Congress in the past Assembly polls. While the ruling Congress is aiming for another term under the leadership of Ashok Gehlot, the Bharatiya Janata Party is hopeful that the state will bring the saffron party back to power.

For the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, both the BJP and Congress left no stone unturned in their manifestos to attract women voters, students and farmers.

What are exit polls

Private organisations conduct exit polls in order to forecast election results. The surveys are usually carried out when voters leave the polls after casting their ballots. Exit polls are used to assess election outcomes and identify trends ahead of the result announcement by the Election Commission. Exit polls can give an indication of the poll outcome, even though they are not always accurate.

When and where to watch Rajasthan exit poll results

Exit poll results for the Assembly elections in Rajasthan will be announced on November 30 after 6.30 pm. Earlier, the Election Commission had prohibited “conducting and publishing or publicising exit poll by means of print or electronic media or dissemination in any other manner whatsoever” between 7 am on November 7 and 6.30 pm on November 30.
