Mukut Mani Adhikari of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won Ranaghat Dakshin assembly seat which was earlier held by Rama Biswas of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Ranaghat Dakshin is an Assembly constituency in the Nadia district, in the South East Bengal region of West Bengal.

The Ranaghat Dakshin constituency went to polls on April 17, 2021.

The assembly seat is reserved for the Scheduled Caste category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Ranaghat Dakshin was won by Rama Biswas of CPIM.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Rama Biswas garnered 104159 votes, securing over 47.51 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 17253 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 7.87 percent.

The constituency polled 219283 votes in the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls with a voter turnout of 85.06 percent.

The Ranaghat Dakshin constituency has a literacy level of 75.58 percent.

A total of 9 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
