In the 2016 Assembly elections, Singur was won by Rabindranath Bhattacharya of CPIM.
Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Rabindranath Bhattacharya of TMC.
In the 2016 assembly polls, Rabindranath Bhattacharya garnered 96212 votes, securing over 49.23 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 20327 votes.
In percentage terms, the victory margin was 10.4 percent.
The constituency polled 195617 votes in the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls with a voter turnout of 84.64 percent.
The Singur constituency has a literacy level of 82.55 percent.
A total of 7 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
