Telangana Polls: Sonia Gandhi makes emotional appeal to voters on last day of campaigning
Nov 28, 2023 9:23 AM

In a heartfelt video message, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday, November 28, extended her final appeal to the people of Telangana, urging them to cast their votes in favour of the Congress party.

Notably, campaigning for Telangana Assembly polls ended at 5 pm today (November 28). Despite being unable to visit the state ahead of polling on November 30, Sonia Gandhi expressed her deep connection to the people of Telangana, emphasising their importance to her.

Addressing the citizens of Telengana in the video, Gandhi conveyed her desire for a transformative shift in the state, advocating for the conversion of "dorala Telangana" (Telangana for elites) to "prajala Telangana" (Telangana for the masses).

"I want to see the dream of the martyred sons of Mother Telangana fulfilled. I sincerely wish that we all convert dorala Telangana into prajala Telangana. Make your dreams come true and give you a true and honest government," she said.

In the video message, Sonia Gandhi shared her gratitude for the affectionate title of 'Sonia Amma' bestowed upon her by the people of Telangana. She promised to reciprocate this love and respect as a dedicated mother figure, and encouraged them to vote for the Congress party.

"You have given me immense respect and respect by calling me Sonia Amma. Treat me like a mother, I will always be grateful to you for this love and respect and will remain dedicated to you forever. I request our sisters, mothers, sons, daughters and brothers of Telangana to use all their power this time to bring about change," she added.

The concluding message echoed the rallying cry, "Marpu Kavali - Congress Ravali" (Transformation is needed - Choose Congress), encapsulating the party's vision for a better Telangana.

Voting for the 2023 Telangana election will be held on November 30 and results will be announced with four other states on December 3.
