Thirunallar is an Assembly constituency in the Karaikal district, in the Karaikal region of Puducherry.

The Thirunallar constituency went to polls on April 6, 2021.

The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Thirunallar was won by R. Kamalakkannan of INC.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by P.R. Siva of AINRC.

In the 2016 assembly polls, R. Kamalakkannan garnered 13138 votes, securing over 51.3 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 2875 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 11.23 percent.

The constituency polled 25611 votes in the 2016 Puducherry assembly polls with a voter turnout of 84.89 percent.

The Thirunallar constituency has a literacy level of 87.05 percent.

A total of 12 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
