E-commerce giant Amazon has announced that its 'Mega Salary Days' sales will commence on January 1. As per the company, the three-day event will help customers buy their favourite brands and products at great prices.

In addition to offers on appliances, TVs, furniture, home appliances, sports, auto products, toys etc customers can enjoy up to 40 percent off on large appliances, up to 35 percent off on best-selling washing machines, up to 35 percent off on air conditioners.

One can also enjoy up to 40 percent of on microwaves, up to 30 percent off on TVs.

Other benefits also include 10 percent instant discount of up to Rs 1,250 and up to Rs 1500 on EMI transactions for customers using Bank of Baroda Credit Cards and Credit Card EMI.

The offer comes days after reports came about the fact that Amazon pumped in over Rs 11,400 crore (about $ 1.5 billion) during FY2019-20 across its marketplace, payments and wholesale business units in India to bolster its position in the country's burgeoning digital commerce market.

The development is significant as the investment comes at a time when the US firm is locked in a bruising battle for market leadership with Walmart-owned Flipkart and is set to take on competition from Reliance Industries that has been bolstering its position in the country's retail segment.
