Hundreds of counterfeit Crocs products seized and 2 arrested during raids in West Bengal
May 24, 2019 9:55 AM

Crocs, Inc, the company that sells casual footwear for women, men and children, said recent raids in West Bengal, resulted in the seizure of hundreds of pairs of counterfeit Crocs products, including bags and footwear, as well as two arrests. The raids are part of Crocs’ proactive anti-counterfeit enforcement campaign with local authorities.

“Crocs takes its intellectual property very seriously and will continue to aggressively protect the brand against those who unfairly trade off Crocs’ goodwill,” said Sara Hoverstock, Vice President and Associate General Counsel in a statement.

The recent raids were carried out against New Shalimar Shoes at Kalimpong and against Jay Maa Trading Company at Siliguri in West Bengal.

The owners of the stores were arrested and goods seized from both raids are stored in a police warehouse and will be produced before the magistrate in due course of the proceedings, the company said.
