Mondelez India sees double digit growth in chocolates category

Chocolate maker Mondelez India on Friday said the company is seeing double-digit growth in the chocolate category

In an interview to CNBC-TV18's Priya Sheth, Anil Viswanathan, director, marketing - chocolates, said, "We are seeing double-digit growth as there has been a lot of investment. We continue to invest and as category leaders, we have had a good track record both in terms of the core as well as innovation. All put together we are quite happy with the kind of inputs we are giving."

On festive season demand, Sheth said, "There is momentum for our category in the festive season. For us, the festival pretty much begins from the day it starts raining in Mumbai. So, starting from July from our end, we have been putting out consistently a set of innovations. In June, we put out 30 percent reduced sugar Cadbury Dairy Milk. In July, we launched Oreo Red Velvet, in August, we had the new Rakhi campaign. So, almost an innovation a month whereas traditionally we used to have innovation once in six months or once in three months. So, that is the speed with which we are innovating as we are seeing a lot of opportunities."
