As temperatures soar, ice-cream makers are seeing a surge in demand. Players are expecting an 18-20 percent increase in volumes owing to the harsh summer.

Amul and Vadilal have launched about 12-14 new variants of ice-creams this summer. Among the premium launches this summer are cake ice-creams, traditional Kulfis in metros while smaller price packs and mini cones are doing well in tier II and tier III cities.

CNBC-TV18's Priya Sheth visited a few ice-cream stalls to check out the flavours of the season.
