US technology giant Apple is planning to release a new MacBook Pro design with a 16-inch to 16.5-inch display in 2019, reported MacRumors quoting a company analyst. This would make it the biggest screen in a Mac notebook since the 17-inch models stopped being sold in 2012, said Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, according to the report.
The lineup may also include a 13-inch model with support for 32GB of RAM, the report said, adding that right now only the 15-inch MacBook Pro can be configured with that amount of memory.
In 2016, Apple only released the first Touch Bar models and the all-new design would be a little surprising, since the company only released the first Touch Bar models in late 2016, more than four years after the previous Retina display models were introduced, the online portal said.
According to the report, Kuo also said that the new Mac Pro will be coming with “easy to upgrade components,” though Apple itself has already said as much.
The analyst also predicted that Apple will also launch a 31.6-inch 6K screen. Aside from the high numbers, this monitor’s highlight would be its use of “mini LED-like backlight”.
