Brain Co. launches from stealth with $30 million Series A
Sep 11, 2025 1:18 PM

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Brain Co., a company incubated by Elad Gil, Jared Kushner, Luis Videgaray, and Eric Wu, announced today it has emerged from stealth and closed a $30 million Series A financing round.

"We're living through a once-in-a-generation platform shift," said Jared Kushner, CEO of Affinity Partners. "After speaking with Elad, we realized we could build a bridge between Silicon Valley's best AI talent and the world's most important institutions to drive global impact."

The round was co-led by Gil Capital and Affinity Partners, with participation from leaders across AI, technology, and business, including:

Andrej Karpathy, co-founder of OpenAIAravind Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of Perplexity AIFidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAIPatrick Collison, co-founder and CEO of StripeReid Hoffman, partner at Greylock and co-founder of LinkedIn and Inflection AIBrian Armstrong, co-founder and CEO of CoinbaseMark Weinberger, former chairman and CEO of EYAndrew Liveris, former chairman and CEO of Dow ChemicalHeadquartered in San Francisco, Brain Co. provides an AI platform and applications for the world's largest and most important institutions.

"This is about redefining how AI is adopted and scaled across the real economy," said Elad Gil. "Brain Co. brings together best-in-class talent, speed, and distribution—and that positions them to be a defining company of the AI era."

To date, Brain Co. has partnered with 10 Global 2000 customers—including a strategic relationship with OpenAI—and has already solved a number of high impact problems including:

Automating construction permitting workflowsOptimizing energy consumption in industrial plantsStreamlining patient care in hospital systemsHandling complex customer interactions (e.g., hotels, restaurants)These early applications have already helped its customers realize hundreds of millions in value across healthcare, energy, retail, government and hospitality.

With this investment, Brain Co. is aiming to reinvent how technology is consumed by enterprises and governments. Traditional software development—build, deploy, integrate—worked in eras of slower technological change. But with AI capabilities advancing daily, that model often results in software that is obsolete before it's even adopted.

When new AI capabilities are released, Brain Co's applications automatically incorporate them. This approach ensures that partners not only realize value from the initial deployment of AI applications faster, but also immediately benefit as the underlying AI capabilities improve.

"Everyone talks about the potential of AI, but most enterprises are stuck with applications built on AI capabilities that are obsolete by the time they get access," said Clemens Mewald, CEO of Brain Co. and former product leader at Instabase, Databricks, and Google Brain. "That has led us to innovate not only on how we build but also on how software is generally consumed by enterprises and governments."
