Broadcom Enhances Open-Source Ecosystem with Bitnami Premium Release

Broadcom Inc. ( AVGO ) disclosed the launch of Bitnami Premium, a commercial enterprise version of Bitnami by VMware Tanzu.

The company also named Arrow Electronics ( ARW ), Inc.  as a global distributor for Bitnami Premium.

Bitnami, a free catalog of open-source software packages, is widely used by developers across major cloud platforms.

It provides easy access to the latest open-source tools in formats like virtual machines, containers, and Helm charts.

Bitnami Premium enhances this offering with security features that help platform engineering and security teams ensure compliance standards.

Bitnami Premium provides users with unlimited access to Bitnami containers and Helm charts on Docker Hub, as well as the latest secure Bitnami software packages for production applications.

It also offers long-term-supported versions maintained by upstream communities.

Purnima Padmanabhan, general manager of the Tanzu Division of Broadcom, said, “Averaging more than four billion downloads a year, Bitnami is critical in helping our customers accelerate their application delivery. This is why we are thrilled to announce the general availability of the new Bitnami Premium through our expanded relationship with Arrow Electronics.”  

“Arrow will help us deliver the value of Bitnami Premium with enhanced security features and world-class support to more customers, while we focus on delivering innovation and new capabilities.”

Investors can gain exposure to the stock via Direxion Daily AVGO Bull 2X Shares ( AVL ) and Columbia Semiconductor and Technology ETF ( SEMI ) .

Price Action: AVGO shares are down 3.88% at $172.00 at the last check Tuesday.
