Milestone certifications mark Butterfly’s readiness to meet stringent data protection requirements globally.

BURLINGTON, Mass. & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Butterfly Network, Inc. ( BFLY ) (“Butterfly”, “the Company”) , a digital health company transforming care with handheld, whole-body ultrasound, today announced it has achieved certification for ISO 27001, the world’s leading standard for information security management systems, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in partnership with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This globally recognized accreditation reinforces Butterfly’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and data protection requirements.

“Achieving ISO 27001 and additional international certifications reflects our uncompromising commitment to protecting data and earning the trust of hospitals, health systems, and customers around the world,” said Mike Tiemeyer, Chief Information Security Officer of Butterfly Network ( BFLY ). “These certifications demonstrate that Butterfly meets rigorous, globally recognized standards and is a reliable partner for secure, enterprise-grade medical imaging. We have the added assurance of being assessed by A-LIGN, a leader in global security audit services, as our third-party assessment organization (3PAO).”

Butterfly has also successfully completed certification for SOC-2 Type 2, C5 Germany (Cloud Computing Compliance Criteria Catalogue), and The National Health Service (NHS) Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), further strengthening its global security posture across the US, UK, EU, and international markets.

Butterfly’s President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Joseph DeVivo added, “Security is foundational to scaling Butterfly globally. With these internationally recognized certifications, we’re affirming not only our technological leadership in point-of-care imaging, but also our dedication to meeting the highest standards of trust, compliance, and protection.”

The latest certification strengthens Butterfly’s growing security foundation. In late 2024, the Company became one of the first (and the first in medical imaging) to earn GovRAMP SnapShot and expects full GovRAMP authorization later this year (along with the similar TX-RAMP certification). It also anticipates securing FedRAMP certification and is pursuing HITRUST CSF r2, a NIST 800-53 (Rev-5) framework that unifies standards like HIPAA and GDPR.
