Fireflies.ai, a California-based AI notetaking application, has announced a mobile app for iOS and Android. Known for its role as an AI meeting assistant in the virtual space, Fireflies now extends its prowess to enhance productivity in in-person meetings, the company said in a press release.
What makes Fireflies stand out from its competitors is the unlimited free transcription for all in-person meetings recorded through the app, which most transcription services do not provide, it said.
“Fireflies has already established itself as the premier AI meeting assistant for video conferencing platforms, providing automated note-taking for over 10 million people on platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, and others. With the new mobile app, Fireflies is expanding beyond online meetings to make in-person meetings more productive as well,” the company said in a statement.
According to Fireflies, the app offers users the ability to record, transcribe, summarise, search, and analyse in-person meetings with over 90% accuracy across 60 languages worldwide.
The Fireflies mobile app also syncs with the web app, ensuring accessibility to meeting notes and transcripts anytime, anywhere. This way, users can review transcripts, listen to recordings, skim summaries, and collaborate with team members on the move.
Krish Ramineni, CEO of Fireflies, said, "As more organisations embrace hybrid meetings, we want to empower productivity whether teams are virtual, in-person, or a mix of both. Our mobile app brings the same amazing AI transcription and summarisation capabilities to physical meetings."
"With the Fireflies mobile app, capturing and transcribing in-person conversations just got seamless. No more scribbling notes or losing key details. Our AI assistant, Fred, works tirelessly so you can focus on the meeting instead of taking notes," Ramineni added.
Fireflies has secured backing from top-tier investors, including Khosla Ventures, Canaan Partners, and tech executives from Salesforce, Microsoft, Facebook, and Slack.
