Cy4Data Labs Delivers the Cybersecurity Industry’s Only Real-Time Insider Threat Detection

As New AI-driven Breaches Expose Millions, Cy4Secure is the Only Solution to Treat Agentic AI as a Distinct Digital Persona and Render Lost, Leaked or Stolen Data Useless

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cy4Data Labs, a leader in data-centric cybersecurity, today announced that its flagship Cy4Secure platform is the cybersecurity industry’s only solution that natively identifies and profiles artificial intelligence agents as distinct digital personas. With this unique feature, Cy4Data enables organizations to detect, monitor, and stop malicious AI-driven data activity in real time before sensitive information leaves the enterprise.

As AI-powered attacks accelerate across academia, government, and the private sector, Cy4Secure applies the same behavioral intelligence used to monitor employees, executives, contractors, and privileged users to AI agents. By learning the normal access patterns and permissions of approved AI systems, Cy4Secure can instantly identify anomalous behavior, contain rogue activity, and prevent large-scale data exfiltration.

“With the number of known vulnerabilities at an all-time high, and massive attacks being orchestrated by increasingly autonomous means, the need to ensure personal information is safe at the data level has never been more pronounced,” said Lance Smith, CEO & Cofounder, Cy4Data Labs. “With unprecedented granularity, Cy4Data’s native insider threat detection guarantees data visibility to instantly identify and neutralize threats, whether they come from an accidental loss of credentials, a malevolent actor, or agentic AI.”

Canvas, Charter, RXNT & 88 percent incidents involving autonomous agents

Across just a few weeks in May 2026, several major data breaches exposed personal identifying information (PII) of users in academia, enterprise, and government. Learning management system platform provider Canvas experienced a ransomware attack that affected 9,000 universities and colleges. Remarkably, Canvas publicly announced that it paid the ransom on the data and that it had been destroyed by cybercriminals.

Elsewhere, telecom and mass media provider Charter Communications reported a breach exposed records for up to 40 million consumer and business customers. Finally, an attack on RXNT, a medical software provider used by the federal government’s Office of the Attending Physician, jeopardized lawmakers’ and their staffs’ personal information, including prescription information.

Meanwhile, a new survey from AI agent management platform provider Gravitee found that security executives across telecom, finance, manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics report 88 percent confirmed or suspected attacks involving autonomous AI agents.

Whether the attacks are driven by agentic AI, insider error, or third-party negligence, it is clear that traditional methods for protecting sensitive data are not working.

Because Cy4Secure's field and atomic-level encryption protects data-in-processing, not just data-at-rest or data-in-transit, a credentialed insider with legitimate system access cannot exfiltrate plaintext data they are not explicitly authorized to decrypt. By continuously analyzing the way users access data across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments, the Cy4Secure platform distinguishes normal operational patterns from high-risk deviations with precision and microsecond speed.

In addition to identifying malicious or negligent insiders, a compromised or manipulated AI agent has its own unique, identifiable behavior and functions as a malicious insider with machine-speed access and no human friction slowing it down. Cy4Secure can identify and deny these agentic AI-driven actors with the same instantaneous speed as a human actor.

Even if attackers succeed in stealing information, Cy4Secure's atomic-level encryption ensures the data remains unreadable and unusable outside authorized environments, dramatically reducing the impact of a breach.

As agentic AI and emerging quantum capabilities reshape the cybersecurity landscape, Cy4Secure provides organizations with a critical new layer of defense, combining real-time insider threat detection with persistent, data-centric protection that secures information wherever it resides or travels.
