Singapore-based DBS Bank on Thursday said that it is planning to hire 100 technology experts in cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and big data through its recruitment hackathon programme in India.

"In keeping with its commitment to drive digital transformation and reimagine banking, Hack2Hire 2019 will focus on the theme of ‘intelligent banking’. Taking place for the third consecutive year, the initiative has received over 44,000 applications till date," the bank said in a statement.

Like last year, this year the bank is recruiting developers, data scientists and system engineers. However, DBS is also hiring scrum masters, user interface and user experience designers, mobile application developers, and solution architects this year.

The Hack2Hire programme will consist of two parts, the first starting with an online technical assessment designed by DBS’ technology team to gauge the basic skill-sets required for the job, the bank added.

Applicants who pass the assessment test will have 24 hours to solve real-life business use cases in a team setting using their technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

The bank said that successful candidates will be offered a job on the same day at DBS Asia Hub 2 (DAH2).

India has a pool of strong tech talent with the right mindset, which orients them to think out-of-the-box to design customer-centric solutions for markets across the region,” said Mohit Kapoor, head, DAH2.
