CTO Dr. Tim O’Shea and VP of Technical Standards Dr. James Lansford to serve as Company Representatives

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

DeepSig, a pioneer in AI-native wireless communications, today announced that two members of its technical leadership team have been appointed to serve on the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Technological Advisory Council (TAC), expanding the company’s participation in one of the nation’s leading advisory boards for communications technology. Dr. Tim O’Shea, CTO and Co-Founder, will serve as DeepSig's primary representative, while Dr. James Lansford, VP of Technical Standards, will serve as the company’s alternate representative.

Dr. O'Shea returns to the council after previously serving two years, while Dr. Lansford joins him in bringing DeepSig's combined expertise in AI-native wireless communications, signal processing, and technical standards to the Commission. He has over 30 years of experience in wireless standards, including unlicensed spectrum policy. Together, they provide complementary perspectives spanning advanced wireless research, standards development, and practical deployment of next-generation communication systems.

The FCC's Technological Advisory Council convenes experts from across the telecommunications and technology sectors to advise the Commission on developments affecting communications networks, spectrum utilization, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. The council provides technical guidance as the FCC develops policies for the nation's communications infrastructure.

"We’re looking forward to participating with the new FCC TAC, and tackling a new set of charter questions," said Dr. Tim O'Shea. "The last TAC sought to provide input on a range of key topics including spectrum, AI, and 6G; these topics continue to be both critical and timely for future communications systems, and we look forward to understanding and providing input to the FCC on its new set of priority topics."

"Technical standards play a critical role in bringing next-generation wireless technologies from research into deployment," said Dr. James Lansford. "I'm excited to contribute that perspective of industry collaboration to the council's work and help advance discussions on the future of communications technology."

“Having both Tim and James serve on the FCC's Technological Advisory Council reflects the depth of technical expertise at DeepSig," said Jim Shea, DeepSig CEO. "Tim has helped pioneer AI-native wireless communications, while James has been instrumental in shaping industry standards that enable these technologies to become reality. Their combined experience will contribute meaningfully to the council's work."

The appointments underscore DeepSig's continued commitment to advancing AI-native wireless technology and supporting the development of secure, resilient, and intelligent communications systems.
