Veteran healthcare IT leader drives value-based care and payment model innovation through WEDI

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Edifecs, a Cotiviti business, today announced the re-election of Michael Pattwell, principal business advisor of value-based care at Edifecs, to the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) Board of Directors. Pattwell’s re-election will help further WEDI’s mission to improve the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of healthcare information exchange across the industry. Pattwell will also continue serving as chair of WEDI’s Value-Based Care Workgroup, where he has been instrumental in fostering the adoption and implementation of innovative payment models that promote collaboration between payers and providers. “It’s an honor to continue serving on the WEDI board alongside so many dedicated healthcare leaders,” said Pattwell. “As the industry evolves toward greater interoperability and value-based care, WEDI plays a critical role in driving consensus and advancing practical solutions. I’m proud to contribute to that mission through both the board and the Value-Based Care Workgroup.”

With more than 30 years of healthcare IT experience, Pattwell has helped leading payers and providers operationalize technology solutions that enhance care quality, reduce costs, and improve administrative efficiency. At Edifecs, he has been a key driver in the development and deployment of the organization’s value-based care solution. Pattwell is a well-recognized industry leader who serves in a variety of leadership positions including as director of the CAQH Value-Based Payment Advisory Board and vendor lead for HL7 International’s Da Vinci Value-Based Performance Reporting Implementation Guide.

“The WEDI board and I are delighted that Michael will continue contributing his deep expertise and strategic insight,” said Robert Tennant, executive director, WEDI. “His leadership has been vital in advancing WEDI’s work on value-based care, interoperability, and payment innovation.”

WEDI is the leading authority on the use of health IT to improve health information exchange, enhance care quality, and reduce costs. With a focus on advancing standards for electronic administrative transactions and promoting data privacy and security, WEDI has been instrumental in aligning the industry in an effort to harmonize administrative and clinical data.
