Recognition underscores the scientific foundation of Entanglement’s Quantum Logic Core™ and the company’s mission to digitize and apply more than half a century of advanced mathematics to humanity’s most complex challenges

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Entanglement, Inc., a next-generation computing and AI company advancing quantum logic, optimization, and artificial intelligence, today announced that its Chief Research Scientist, Dr. Fred Glover, has been ranked #30 worldwide and #22 in the United States in Research.com’s 2026 Best Mathematics Scientists ranking.

The fifth annual edition of the ranking evaluates more than 3,500 leading researchers across the mathematical sciences using the discipline-specific D-index, drawn from bibliometric data in OpenAlex and CrossRef as of January 2026. Dr. Glover’s profile reflects a Mathematics D-index of 104, 507 publications, and 68,504 citations — placing him among the most influential mathematicians of his generation. Research.com also named him a Top Mathematics Scientist in the United States.

“Fred’s recognition by Research.com is incredibly well-deserved and a celebration of a truly remarkable career; it also underscores the depth behind Entanglement’s work,” said Jason Turner, Chairman and CEO of Entanglement, Inc. “But for us at Entanglement, having him lead our research is about more than his world-class credentials and being one of the world’s leading mathematicians. Fred’s brilliant mind and dedication are the true engines of our mission. He isn’t just helping us build better technology; he is helping us tackle planetary-scale problems. He is actively working on the big challenges, the ones that, when solved, will make life better for all of us.”

A Foundational Legacy in Optimization

Dr. Glover is widely recognized as one of the most important figures in operations research and combinatorial optimization. He invented Tabu Search, coined the term “metaheuristic,” and originated Scatter Search and Strategic Oscillation, both strategies first proposed in his foundational 1977 paper, “Heuristics for Integer Programming Using Surrogate Constraints” (Decision Sciences, Vol. 8, No. 1, pp. 156–166), these approaches can be applied across logistics, finance, telecommunications, supply chain, energy, healthcare, defense, and advanced computing.

A Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado Boulder, Dr. Glover has received numerous honors, including the INFORMS John von Neumann Theory Prize, the INFORMS Impact Prize, election as an INFORMS Fellow and IEEE Fellowship, and election to the National Academy of Engineering.

Reactivating a Half-Century of Mathematical Discovery

A core part of Entanglement’s research mission is the systematic digitization and operationalization of more than fifty years of theoretical mathematics, optimization theory, and algorithmic research, including foundational methods that were decades ahead of the hardware available to execute them. Many of these approaches, conceived in the 1970s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, could not be fully realized on the chip architectures and compute environments of their era. Some have been largely forgotten, sitting dormant in academic literature despite their power to address problems that today’s brute-force AI and classical computing still struggle to solve efficiently.

Entanglement is rebuilding these methods for modern quantum and quantum-classical hybrid hardware, GPU-accelerated infrastructure, and emerging quantum logic substrates utilizing novel chip architectures. Dr. Glover’s own 1977 introduction of surrogate constraints, Scatter Search, and Strategic Oscillation, ideas that took mainstream computing decades to catch up to, is representative of the deep intellectual heritage now being activated inside the Quantum Logic Core™. By pairing this body of work with modern compute, Entanglement is unlocking algorithmic capabilities that were previously theoretical and applying them to real-world problems spanning vertical markets of the highest impact and value.

Applied Science at Planetary Scale

At Entanglement, Dr. Glover’s research informs the company’s development of quantum-logic, optimization, and AI systems designed to solve complex, high-dimensional problems, such as those required to realize Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI). His work supports the company’s Quantum Logic Core™ and related initiatives.

This global recognition underscores Dr. Glover’s decades-long influence in mathematical optimization, combinatorial optimization, network optimization, and metaheuristics — fields that now sit at the center of many of the hardest computational challenges in artificial intelligence, logistics, cybersecurity, life sciences, space, ocean and maritime intelligence, and quantum-linked decision systems.

“This recognition is deeply meaningful because it reflects the work of many extraordinary collaborators, students, and colleagues over many years,” said Dr. Fred Glover, Chief Research Scientist of Entanglement, Inc. “What excites me most is the opportunity ahead. As optimization, artificial intelligence, and quantum-related methods continue to converge, we have the ability to address problems that once seemed beyond practical reach. At Entanglement, that work is being applied where it can make a meaningful difference today, across cybersecurity, human health, environmental resilience, ocean science, and AI efficiency.”
