European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Open Week Lower in Monday Trading

11:23 AM EDT, 03/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts kicked off the week lower in Monday's trading session, declining 0.7% to 1,353.63 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech companies BioNTech (BNTX) and Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) , which rose 5.8% and 5.9% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) and financial services company ING (ING), which were up 1.9% and 1.2% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which fell 4.1%, followed by biopharmaceutical companies DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and Grifols ( GRFS ) , which declined 3.9% and 3.6% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which soared 107%, followed by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and financial services company Barclays ( JJCTF ) , which were up 0.9% and 0.8% respectively. Financial services firm Lloyds Banking Group ( LYG ) increased 0.6%.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companes NuCana ( NCNA ) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which lost 5% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which was down 2.9%.
